Wade S. Kolb, Jr. established the firm in 1998 after a 15 year career as the four-time elected Solicitor (chief criminal prosecutor) for Sumter, Clarendon, Lee and Williamsburg counties (Third Judicial Circuit). As Solicitor, he personally prosecuted some of the highest profile cases in South Carolina, and oversaw the prosecution of thousands of cases within the Third Judicial Circuit. Mr. Kolb's legal career spans over 30 years, and includes service as the first full time assistant Solicitor in the Third Judicial Circuit and an Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina.
Mr. Kolb is a 1974 graduate of the University of South Carolina Law School (JD), and a 1971 graduate of the University of South Carolina (BS in Business Administration). He is admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of South Carolina and the US District Court, District of South Carolina.
A lifelong resident of Sumter County, Mr. Kolb is active in numerous legal and community organizations, and served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce from 2008-2009. Mr. Kolb is the recipient of the Julian T. Buxton Human Service Award from the YWCA (2002), the James T. McCain Public Service Award from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee (1999), the Silver Scales Justice Award from the South Carolina Victim Assistance Network (1990), and the Law Enforcement Commendation
